Biden Responds to Israeli Strikes on Iran: “I Hope This Marks the End”

US President Joe Biden shared his hopes on Saturday that the recent Israeli attacks on Iran will end the rising tensions in the Middle East.

He told reporters in Philadelphia, “It seems they only targeted military places. I hope this is the last of it.” Earlier that day, he received updates from his intelligence team.

Biden mentioned he was informed before the Israeli strikes happened. While he said the US wasn’t directly involved, officials have been working closely with Israel.

He also noted he wasn’t surprised that former President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but expressed concern that Trump was not representing the US during those talks.

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris participated in a call with their national security team to discuss the latest news from the Middle East after the strikes.

The White House stated that Biden emphasized the need to protect US forces and support Israel against any possible reactions from Iran and its allies.
